I bought a new computer a couple of weeks ago with Windows Vista. A problem
that's occured quite a few times is that I am unable to associate a file type to an application that doesn't show up in the dialog. For instance: 1 - I right click on the file and choose "open with" / "choose default program" 2 - The program I want to use does not show in the "Recommended programs", so I hit the + sign to expand the "Other programs" list. 3 - It's not there either, so I click the "Browse" button and locate the program I want to use. 4 - When returning, the program still doesn't show in any of the lists! This looks like a bug to me ... Steinar Haugen |

Have you thought of... My Computer--Explore--Tools--Folder Options, then seelct File View tab. Highlight the file type you DON'T want to associate with the file you originally associated with another program by mistake and press the "Delete" button. Does this help? _________________________ gerol;272523 Wrote: waaahh. same problem as mine!! please help us.... please...
