After installing Vista my fax function has stopped working. I have tried to
find the solution and one was to click on all programs and go to "windows scan and fax". The problem with that is that on my computer there is no Windows scan and fax function. Any suggestions on how to find the windows scan and fax function? |

Do you have Vista Home Basic or Home Premium?
If so, you don't have Scan & Fax. It is only in the Ultimate or Business versions. Search this forum, as this has been a hot topic. "Brian" wrote in message ... Thanks. That explains why i can't find it. I am running the home premium

Any suggestions on how to get my fax running in that edition "Carey Frisch [MVP]" wrote: Windows Fax and Scan is only available in the Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista. You could upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition or purchase
a third-party fax program that's Vista compatible. After the initial annoyance of finding no FAX in Vista Home Premium I
installed Snappy Fax. Setting up the cover page in the quirky editor was a bit tiresome but after that it is has proved reliable and easy to use. http://www.snappysoftware.com/index.html Doug "Brian" wrote in message ... Actually You just made my life a lot easier...
My next "upgrade" will be to F-disk my hard drive remove vista and return to XP Vista is a quantum step backwards from what I had with XP and I'm not going to loose more functions so you can have more proffit (forcing a a new product with less functionality on us then expecting us to shell out $ for ms office all over again?) My next upgrade will probably be Linux You've breached my trust.... your gone "Carey Frisch [MVP]" wrote: Windows Fax and Scan is only available in the Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista. As you've learned you should have bought Vista Ultimate to keep the
functionality you had with XP. I can also warn you that it is apparently not possible to upgrade to Vista Ultimate without reformatting the hard disk. At least no one at Dell knows how to do it. Microsoft will sell an "upgrade" disk and claims that it can be used to convert to Ultimate but in fact it cannot be made to work without wiping the hard drive. That's the spirit! Check out ubuntu! Free & better! I've been dual booting
ubuntu and windows xp for a couple of years now. I mostly use ubuntu. I'm still only 15, so go figure how easy it is. "Vista is malware!" wrote: Actually You just made my life a lot easier...
