Default Access Denied & Off-line files

I have just taken delivery off a laptop that is running Vista Business. I
have a Windows 2003 domain, and my profile is set to redirect “Documents” to
a network share (H:\users\myname) – everything was\is working correctly under
Windows XP Pro; including Off-line files. But now, with Vista Business, I
can no longer create or modify Office documents when connected to the
network. I can, however, create and modify simple text files!...

If I open or create an Office document when connected to the network; I
receive the ‘Access Denied’ message when saving. When I am not connected to
the network, I can do anything I want to my H:\users\myname files and they
even replicate correctly when I connect again.

My account has full rights to this folder, and is part of the ADMINS group
for the domain. I have tried resetting the permissions for the share, but it
didn’t do anything. I haven’t done anything with laptop, apart from joining
it to the domain.

Any suggestions?

1. Are you able to open the same office documents while online, using some
other app like notepad?
2. Are you seing this behavior on any other shares that are not available
offline? If you don't have access to any such shares, it might be
interesting to see if the problem persists when you disable offline files.

We could get processmon logs to troubleshoot further.

Thanks,
Shubhankar
