Hello,
I am setting up multiple Laptops and have them connected to wireless. The
wireless is a 3com system with open access but restricted by MAC Address.
All three of the Vista (Business) machines connect to the wireless, pull an
IP address, can ping sites in the Internet, but not a single one of them can
access or browse web pages. I am stumped on this because if it is the fact
that it is an unsecured network then Wireless Kiosks in restaurants wouldn't
work either (I have not tried to confirm this) unless the MAC policy has
anything to do with it.
Any help would be great, if this isn't possible we will have to go back to XP.

Run cmd.exe from the run box. Type ipconfig /all
Post the results here.

PS. Check your DNS server specifications in the router DHCP configuration.

Here are the IPConfig's the top one is through a stand alone Netgear AP (non
router) and the second is through a 3com AP that is managed by by the 3Com
WX440 Wireless Management switch. XP works perfect through the 3Com, Vista
only get's local access for browsing our network and the icon shows that it
is receiving internet access as well. We can ping out side sites just can't
access anything through the web including our Intranet site.

Is your DHCP server device a router or an actual server (i.e. Win2003, Linux,
etc.)?

Run command ping yahoo.com
Does it resolve to an IP?
Run command nslookup
What DNS server does it show?

When you go to a website on the internet, what is the exact response
message? I don't think that using wireless MAC authentication has anything
to do with your problem. You are using different networks for the two
interfaces shown. Are they VLANs off the switch?

DHCP is a Win2003 R2 SP2 Domain Controller.

Ping Trace NSLookup all work perfectly.

We never recieve a response on the webpage, I set each of the three machines
going to a different site for an hour and we just get a blank screen with
green bar loading indicator at about 3/4 of the way complete and the IE 7
endless loop ring running on the tab.

As a test.....hardcode the dns properties on one of the NICs to Primary of
your internal DNS server 10.80.17.253 and secondary of 4.2.2.1, tertiary of
4.2.2.2.

On the Win2003 box, can it pull up internal or external web sites? If so,
check for firewalls on the server or Vista machines blocking UDP port 53.

But that isn't the problem this is a wireless issue and going through 3Com
Managed Wireless switches. We have several hundred machines and these vista
machines work fine going through a test Netgear, Cisco, and Linksys WAP. The
issue is last summer I deployed a 3Com Managed Wireless through out our
entire campus which is what everyone who has wireless laptops must use. I
think it might be an issue with 3Com not support Vista's IP Stack.
