Default clearwire wireless mouse question

i just received a free wireless mouse from clearwire broadband as a
promotion. its a two piece mouse and usb/ps2 unit. the receiver is
attached to a ps2 adapter. my laptop does not have a ps2 connector.
when i plug the receiver directly to the usb port, vista finds it as a
human Interface Device. the device is working properly. when i disable
the touchpad, the new mouse does not take over. is ter something im
missing here???

When you plug in the usb into the laptop the lighton the USB dongle
should light up you press the button on the top of it looks like a
black dot and then it will begin to flash, when it starts to flash just
press the button on the bottom of the mouse it should go steady when it
is connected you dont have to disable the touch pad on the computer it
should work properly with out making that type of change to your
computer if it doesn't work try moving the dongle if it works even
momentarily it could mean you have a broken mouse and you should
contact clearwire right away so that they can replace it.
