I have a client with a one-way satellite Internet connection, which uses USB.
That host PCs NIC is connected to a Belkin Wireless router and 3 other PCS use wireless cards for the network and Internet. All sharing and working correctly. The client has now brought in his Vista Business notebook. It will ping the ICS host. It will translate DNS through the ICS host. It will map a drive to shared file on the ICS host, but will NOT access Internet. As the Belkin WiFi router will only give out itself as gateway and DNS server when it is DHCP server, I have had to manually set IP addresses and set the gateway and DSN server to ICS Host, 192.168.0.1. I've tried disabling firewalls on both client and host - no go. I've tried putting the Vista username/password in as a user on the ICS host, but still no go. What am I missing, or what else can I try? -- Doug |

It could be the DNS issue. Try to assign the ISP DNS. Does that work?

But it does translate DNS OK?
Do you think that reassigning DNS to the ISP's DNS will make a difference? -- Doug "Robert L [MVP - Networking]" wrote: It could be the DNS issue. Try to assign the ISP DNS. Does that work?
