Previously in XP, I used to connect to my work computer by Dial-up
netrworking - I used to have "a dialup connection" on machine A and "an incoming connection" on machine B. I used to dial from machine A to machine B. Thereafter there used to be a onetime setup to be done as follows: on machine A, I would click on searchsearch companion computers or people A computer on the network Here I would give the IP address of Machine B and press search. The machine B would become visible after search which took a while. Then by clicking on the Machine B in the search results, I could see the shared resources of machine B. Here I would map the appropriate shared drives or folder of machine B in machine A. Now I want to run a machine with VISTA in place of Machine A. I have been successful in creating the dialup connection. The Machine A(VISTA) and machine B(XP) can connect very well by modem. However I do not see how to proceed further. Where do I search computer B so that I can map its drives etc. I will appreciate help of seniors to set up what I used to have earlier. Regards S Bans |
