I have a brand new Laptop running Window Vista (business) and need to setup
my VPN connection. When I go to the DNS option for TCP the controls are all disabled, preventing me from adding the suffixed required for access to my company's network. Does anybody know what I am missing? Here are the steps I did: I setup a new network connection, and choose "workplace" for my VPN. I connect using my Internet connection I type in my internet address I type in my username and password and click connect (which is sucessful, partial access) I specfify this is a work setting (private) I go to network connection and go into properties I click on the networking table, choose TCP (v4 or v6) and properties I obtain an IP and DNS automatically I click on Advanced/DNS to add my suffixes and the "Append these DNS suffix" controls are all disabled. Can somebody explain why they are disabled in the dialog box, "Enable LMHosts" under the WINS tab is also disabled if that helps diagnose? thank you |
