Here's the problem:
I just bought an ASUS G1 loaded with Windows Vista Premium. Now, the owner of the place I'm living in has an UNSECURED Wireless Internet Network that is practically available to all residents of the place. My laptop could detect that network and said that it had a strong signal (5 bars). Now i tried connecting to it and it said that it couldn't connect because of low signal quality. I have another laptop, an Inspiron with, that could connect to the network, no sweat. So what's wrong with the connection? I updated the driver network adapter. |

Be aware that Road Runner terms of service for residential accounts
do not allow for sharing connections among different households. I realize that this happens in NYC but you should check to make sure that this is not going to get you in some kind of legal trouble. Nah.. It's perfectly legal.. I live in the household that owns the router..
So I'm pretty sure I have the privilege of using it. Haha.. Anyway, what could be the problem? "Stefan" wrote: Here's the problem: I just bought an ASUS G1 loaded with Windows Vista Premium. You might have a defective wireless card in your system. Have you checked out the signal level on other networks, and compared them to the level reported by your Inspiron laptop? That would be my first test. |
