I purchased a new 128 mb video card, Geforce 6200 with a Nvidia chipset.
When I try to update the windows experience index I receive the message: "Cannot complete assessmente. The assessment or other operation did not complete succesfully. This is due to an error being reported from the operating system, driver, or other component." I am using Vista Ultimate 32bit. How can I fix this issue in order to update the index? |

Try checking the manufacturer's website to see if they have any updated
drivers for Vista for your specific video card. Most WEI errors are due to driver issues. -- Andy Sweet Windows User Assistance team Microsoft Corporation |

The only way I can get the assessment tool to work on my Samsung X50, is if I first downgrade my laptop's screen to a 1280x1024 screen. Just setting the resolution lower does not work. I actually have to replace the screen. Actually, there is a way of bypassing that pesky assessment tool. Just use drivers for Vista RC1. These old drivers will run Aero glass without asking Winsat for permission, so you dont need to run the assessment, or downgrade your laptop for Vista. -- rjklindsay |
