Ok, it's not a spring chicken. But neither is it ready to be bronzed
and thrown away. It's a Dell Axim X5, running PocketPC v 3.0.

would sync PERFECTLY w/ WinXP, using AS4.5.

But now Vista is simply rude and tells me that WM versions older than
2003 are unsupported???

So this is an appeal to the masses - anyone written a version of AS that
WILL work?

Active Sync is no longer used in Windows Vista. You have to find "Windows
Mobile Device Center" I have the Axim X30, and it works fine, so the X5
should work just as well.

You should strive to learn a bit more information before replying.

The X30 uses Windows Mobile 2003, which the "Mobile Device Center" supports.

The X5 uses Windows Mobile 2002, which the "Mobile Device Center" does
NOT support.

The X5 supports two versions of Windows Mobile - 2002 & 2003. I have one
that syncs up perfectly, it uses 2003.

You will need to find the Dell upgrade CD (probably on ebay since Dell
hasn't supported this upgrade for a few years) and upgrade your X5 to 2003
if you desire to use VISTA on your PCs and still sync with your X5.

Since you've got an X5 that works, I would assume that means you've got
the upgrade CD. I don't suppose you'ld like to loan/sell it to me?

email me privately if you want to talk further.
