If you have a SigmaTel audio adapter, right click on speaker icon in
notification area, click Playback Devices, select Properties for your default
playback devices and uncheck audio enhancements

Same issue here. New laptop, Vista Home Premium, WMP 11. Doesn't happen on
every song, but very annoying. Cal Bear, there aren't any enhancements
selected. Anyone have any ideas???

If you don't have a Sigma Tel audio adapter then it probably does not apply.

What audio adapter do you have?

Anyway you could try. Right click on the Speaker icon in the Notification Area
of the Taskbar, select Playback Devices, highlight Speakers or SPDIF (whichever
you are using). press the Properties button, on the Enhancement tab, deselect
any enhancements.

I've found a great solution and I want to share it.

Use iTunes.

Sorry, but the Apple program works just like their systems ... no glitches,
no skipping, no problems.

I have the same problem. Un ticking the enhancements didn’t work because i
didn’t have any ticked and itunes refuses to play some of my audio files. I
also cant redownload music player because it wont allow me.

My music skips for about 5 seconds around a minute before the end of a song.
To make things worse it does it on the best song ever. “Always and Forever”.
This song needs to be played through to the very end!!!

Me too i want this thing to work.

Where are the experts when you need them?
It's taken me 2 hours to figure out how to post this message.

Hello?????

I have the exact same problem on a Dell Inspiron 6400, but when I choose a
song to play, it takes quite a while to load up and shows the busy loading
ring. I just want it to work properly. I called Dell twice and they couldn't
fix it. What is wrong with my computer?
