Default Bonjour mDNSResponder.exe Question

Hi.

I found this little program on my Vista system and don't know where it came
from.
Before I had Quicktime Alternative installed and that's the only thing where
I think it might came from.
Is there a way to uninstall it like getting rid of it for good and not just
disable it.
What kind of programs are there that install this Bonjour on a Vista system?
Please give me some advise here.

Thanks in advance,
Tommy

Default Bonjour mDNSResponder.exe Question

It is created by Apple and used a lot by Adobe. Have you installed any of
the CS3 family of products? It appeared on my machine when I installed the
new Photoshop.

Default Bonjour mDNSResponder.exe Question

Tommy,

A day after I d/l'ed Itunes and Quicktime, I had to block Itunes from
calling home (I think this was on Windows Defender), but I think one of
the
two is still doing this.

Ethereal output shows an MDNS (multicast DNS) shoutout to
appletv-pair
at IP Address 224.0.0.251 [I think a multicast] on port 5353.
I read at David Akin blogware that another person who d/l ed
Itunes received a notice from his SP that others on his network
segment were receiving what their firewalls thought was port scans and
a Ping of Death from his computer, reaching out to 224.0.0.251.
He thought his Itunes Preferences were set to Sharing. Followups
thought that it was not Itunes based on the port numbers the poster
reported. Though my Itunes Sharing is disabled, I'm still seeing
these MDNS queries.

Thanks.
