Default Vista Vision

I have Vista in a dual boot system with XP and an LCD connected via digital
cable.
Color management in Photoshop requires calibrating the monitor with a device
that measures screen brightness and color values.
The videocard is an Nvidia.
At default monitor settings the calibration device measures different
brightness and color values, not massive differences but easily detected
differences, under XP and under Vista. That is all it takes to wreak havoc
on accurate color printing.
Under XP calibration yields reliable color management but under Vista the
results are just not as accurate. An image processed under XP which prints
well does not look the same when opened in Vista.
So I would have to conclude that the video drivers for Vista, whether due to
Microsoft, Nvidia or both, as well as the Vista drivers for the calibration
device are not ready for any critical graphics work. They are all still seem
beta products.
