Hello Everyone, I have a laptop with Vista64 on it. It worked fine until last week. I tried to set my home wireless lan then it lost its Internet connection. I couldn't have used ineternet since then but lan works well. I couldn't use total commander FTP, Live Messenger, Outlook, IExlorer or Opera, but I can ping everything is on the Internet. Nslookup works too. I tried to connect by wired connection at home and at work (in domain environment) but it hasn't been succeeded. Vista Network and Sharing Center Diagnostics Tool couldn't find any trouble. In Network and Sharing Center - Set up connections or network I tried to reset my network properties and it said "You have an existing internet connection". Here I can choose "Browse on Internet" then it opens an IExplorer which can access Internet and it works fine!! (this instance owned by svchost) If I open another instance of Iexplorer it can't reach Internet. I have switched off Firewall and UAC but it still couldnt have access Internet. Gadgets of sidebar which require Internet connection (example: weather gadgets) also works fine. Has anyone got an idea what to do now? Thanks! -- kori |

Kori, I am having a similar issue. There is something strange in Vista networking that allows certain programs access to the network but not others. I am looking for someone to clue me into what it is called. My networking is "busted" like yours after installing a new version of Blackberry Desktop... -- cakoala |
