Have home network and have the 3com internet 25 as a firewall issuing DHCP
addresses. Everything was fine under XP (i have three other xp boxes working ok on the n/w) - but the machine running Vista 64 Business will not get a reservered IP from the firewall - instead it gets a dynamic one from the pool. The only thing i have noticed is that when I do nbtstat on the vista box, the mac address is returned in upper case and on the firewall it is stored in lower case. I'm not sure if it is related to Microsoft ID 928233 (http://support.microsoft.com/default...b/928233/en-us) - though it does talk to the firewall to obtain a dynamic address. Thanks in advance |
