I have recently tried to netowrk my new PC with Vista and my old PC with XP
to share files and a net connection. Is it possible to run a cable from my DSL modem to my Vista, then from my Vista to XP via a PCI network card? I'm just looking for a cheap but efficeint method that is as simple as possible and just for the 2 computers. |

It's called using a cross-over cable, and ICS. http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/07/connecting-two-computers-with.html http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0...ters-with.html But a router is a much better solution. If you can afford DSL, you can afford a router. http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/ics-is-ok-but-you-can-do-better.html http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0...do-better.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
