Default Vista/XP Sharing Files & Internet Connection...

I have recently tried to netowrk my new PC with Vista and my old PC with XP
to share files and a net connection. Is it possible to run a cable from my
DSL modem to my Vista, then from my Vista to XP via a PCI network card? I'm
just looking for a cheap but efficeint method that is as simple as possible
and just for the 2 computers.

You can do that. It's called using a cross-over cable, and ICS.

But a router is a much better solution. If you can afford DSL, you can afford a
router.
