desktop problems?
I have the same prob I get the blank srcreen with mouse pointer but no desktop.Ctrl alt delete does nothing for me.Task manager dose not start. This all started while watching a movie on Media center, movie locked up and I had to restart comp. help!! -- goldie

i have the same problem like oralay.. n i already use the way u ask to.. i click ctrl+alt+del.. then,go to file n new task.. n type "regedit" as u ask.. but the results turns to fail n its write "registry editing has been disable by your administrator".. help me please! my desktop turn blank n no task menu or even task bar.. Hi,
The same way as you are trying to run regedit. What is the shell String. Did everything up to that but you then lost me at

so after i start new task manager and bring up explorer and i bring up the registry and get HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon i dont even have a winlogon folder (or i cant find it) all i have is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then when i expand it i have these sub folders BCD0000000,COMPONENTS,HARDWARE,SAM,SECURITY,SOFTWA RE,SYSTEM i need help Rick -- johnny handrail
