I have a HP Pavilion DV6152eu with wireless built-in. it came with XP media Center, but I made an upgrade to Vista Home Premium. My laptop was working well with wireless for aprox 1 month. but then I was unable to see any wireless network. the front wireless/bluetooth switch is "ON" the wireless device is properly installed, drivers are ok because like I said it was working with vista and wireless aprox one month. The fact is that before when I used to turn my laptop on I could see on the task bar the bluetooth icon with a pop-up showing me: "bluetooth : on" "wireless : on". Now what I just see is "bluetooth : on". I re-intalled vista again and updated all the drivers but the trouble persists. after one week using wired connection my wireless magically appeared again. but after few days it has gone again.... any idea why? I hope you can help me. As we know some router DHCP is not compatible with Vista. You may have two options.
1. Setup a static IP. 2. Disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag in Windows Vista as the below link: Vista: Can't receive IP from a DHCPSymptom: A Vista is setup to obtain an IP address from a DHCP. However the Vista cannot receive an IP address from the DHCP. If you assign static Vista, ... http://chicagotech.net/netforums/vie...d7a01dbb4cdb81 Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "Carlos Arango" wrote in message ... And you've installed the latest drivers for that laptop from the HP web site

Carlos Arango,
I'm sorry you're experiencing trouble. Are you still having the issue? If so, are you able to see any other wireless network (hotspot) if you take the laptop on the road?
