Default VPN Wizard busted?

I had a VPN connection working(in Vista U 64bit) but hadn't used it in
awhile. Needed to use it the other night, connection was gone. I tried the
wizard and it just says it couldn't connect(with no code). I even tried
using the Don't Connect Now, just create the Connection option, still end up
with the same result. Also the Diagnose button does nothing at all, and it
if I do the Try Again, it sits there forever like it's trying to connect.
After all is said and done, no new connection exists(even though I chose the
"don't connect, just save connection" option. Any help would be
appreciated(I'm past 90 days after Activation, so contacting MS directly is
out of the question)

That's the problem, there isn't one. It just fails, the Diagnose doesn't do
anything and Save Connection doesn't save.

I'll have to check the Event Viewer when I get home. I know there are no
bangs in devmgt(at least Network related, just my HP printer). Thank you so
far

Thanks for the Event Viewer tip, turns it I had disabled Telephony
service(said it was disabled in the Event Viewer) when I was disabling
services I thought I didn't need.
