I can play my .avi's in WMP fine, but when I import to Windows Movie Maker it
only imports the audio (even though WMM recognizes it as a video file with an ..avi extension). I get no error messages anywhere. |

But what sort of avi is it?
AVI is just a container and can conatin many hundreds of file types, dv-avi is the one to use with MM, ones like divx, xvid, mjpeg won't work, mpeg ones may if you have decoders installed that MM can utilise. -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.com "Marc Wilson" wrote in message ... Hi. I had the same problem. I downloaded prism video converter and converted them from avi to wmv first - then it workes fine in Movie Maker. The software is free, but apparently after 14 days the only file formats it converts are wmv and avi, which is fine for our purposes. I know it's an extra fiddly step - but it saves a lot of frustration! ![]() -- kalleaume Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |
