Default Import Problems with my DV camcorder

I have a panasonic, and when i try to upload video into windows movie maker,
it say that the camera isnt conneted. I tried to find a vista driver with no
luck, and it doesnt look so good.i only have a usb port as well as a DV port
on the camera, (no firewire, i think). USB is all i tried with no luck, whats
the DV port for?
Thanks

DV = fire wire = IEEE 1394

Check in Control Panel Device Manager to see if you have an IEEE 1394 Bus host
controller
