Default Printer Sharing between XP and Vista

I've got a small network consisting of a PC running XP connected by a wire. A
laptop with Vista Home Premium with a wireless connetion and a HP 841C
printer that is conntected to the PC with XP. How can i enable my laptop to
to print to my HP 841C?

Well, the good news is that I do see mention of Vista in the HP 841C support web
site. The bad news is that the printer has been discontinued, and it's not
supported by HP.

I'd start by getting file sharing working between the two computers. Get that
issue out of the way please.

You will have to deal with the challenges of networking Vista and XP.

Once that's done, then it should be just installing the drivers using the HP
setup disc / program. Just take it one step at a time.

I have the same problem. Desktop connected by wire with attached HP 990.
Laptop with Vista premium is wireless. I can do file sharing but can't get to
the printer. I can see it, it shows up on the laptop as the default printer.
I keep getting a message to install drivers. I have installed the original
disk, tried hooking up directly to the printer and let Vista do it thing as
well, So far Nada. All the other sharing stuff is turned on. My prior laptop
ran 2000 and it worked fine.
Help????????
