I had an XP machine hosting my shared printer and all my other XP PCs and
even MAC all worked fine. When I upgraded the central PC to vista it vanished from the network browsers on all XP and MAC machines. I can navigate manually to it using an ipaddress instead of its name. Lastly printing from the MAC doesnt work. I've trawled the MSFT and Apple KBs and they are suspiciously empty. Try searching for MAC under VISTA (on the KB) and there isnt a single hit. The only thing I found was kb 929451 which says the NIC GUID might change when upgading to Vista which messes up DNS. I dont use DNS though. |
