My wife suddenly lost connection to our Linksys router.
Her "Connect to a Network" dialog box showed only "Workgroup", not the router or any of the other wireless routers in the area (yes, the selector above was set to show all networks). I went to the "Set up a connection" box, entered the appropriate info in, and it said the network already existed, did I wish to create a new one, I said "Yes" and appended an "A" to the name. It proceeded to the "Connect to a Network" box where it still only showed "Workgroup". At this point, I decided to try a reboot. Upon reboot, everything was back to normal, but the connection I created by appending an "A" was nowhere in sight. Why would one part of Vista report that the network already exists, and the dialog box not show it. Why are there so many different "views" on the network connection on Vista? I thought Vista was supposed to improve networking? |
