Default VPN to Exchange (5.5) thru ISA (2004)

Weird. It connects very quickly and I can hook up to any share on the
network. More over, I can ping the Exchange server by IP and by name (FQDN
or not) but Outlook (2003) simply won't talk to it.

I run Vista Ultimate and Outlook 2003 on a laptop without any problems at
work. At home, however, going through a standard home router to ISA 2004
fronting 2003 (non-native) network, Outlook fails to make a connect with
Exchange 5.5.

It's worth to mention that up until 3 weeks ago, I ran XP in the same setup
and I had only intermittent problems getting to Exchange. The problem was
resolved by changing the order of interfaces in Linkage of TCPIP in
registry. Unfortunately, with Vista, this fix is not possible as Vista
(seems to) creates interface for VPN dynamically.

This smells like some weird RPC issue that affects Vista only, as XP (2000
and NT4) machines have no problems at all. Would anyone - please - venture
to guess what might be the issue?

Thanks.

rb
