hello
i followed all the instructions for file and printer sharing. i can now open files between my new vista and XP machines, in either direction. the pinters are on the XP machine. I understand how to see the printers on that XP machine, but when i try to "add printer" to the vista machine i always get "access denied". a second XP machine can utilize the printer across the network - so no porblem there. i've run out of the basic instructions to try. any ideas? thanks, aj |

Since the other XP box can use the printer, you've apparently shared it correctly. Instead of adding the printer from Vista's Control Panel, download the latest drivers/installation setup for the printer from the printer mftr.'s website. Run the printer installation on Vista.
