How much will Vista cost?
There is a problem with that scenario. XP MCE was and still is only
available by OEM. Which would contradict Microsoft's pricing strategy versus the upgrade path they had previously laid out: Vista Home Basic to Home Premium to Ultimate. If I were a betting man, I would say Microsoft may surprise us all and under price it compared to XP (i.e. Vista Home Basic Full Retail $100, Upgrade Retail $50, ect...). After all, the easiest way to stamp out piracy is to lower the cost of the application. Lower prices mean more people can afford the upgrades instead of stealing it. I know there are other reasons for piracy, but price seems to be the most used excuse. Not trying to step on anyone's toes about the pricing, just giving my two cents about it. -Luke Mark D. Microsoft has finally released the prices on their Canadian Microsoft web site: Microsoft.com Canada has released pricing for Windows Vista. Windows Vista Ultimate is listed at $499 Canadian which translates into $450.36 in USD. Home Premium is listed at $299 or $269.86 USD, Vista Ultimate Upgrade is priced at $299 or $269.86 USD, while Home Premium Upgrade is $199 or $179.60 USD. Thats very true. I wonder if all the rich ms employees don't realise that
$400 is a hell of alot of money. The main reason office gets pirated is because of the price. it's just unaffordable to the public. "Luke Fitzwater" wrote: There is a problem with that scenario.
