How much will Vista cost?
Everyone has been asking this question for some time now. Microsoft has finally released the prices on their Canadian Microsoft web site:
Microsoft.com Canada has released pricing for Windows Vista. Windows Vista Ultimate is listed at $499 Canadian which translates into $450.36 in USD. Home Premium is listed at $299 or $269.86 USD, Vista Ultimate Upgrade is priced at $299 or $269.86 USD, while Home Premium Upgrade is $199 or $179.60 USD. Wow, I was really expecting the prices to be higher. I remembered back to XP
and if I remember, I thought XP Pro (full) was about US$500. So naturally, I thought Ultimate would be around US$700. But to answer your question, the US side hasn't released the pricing, AFAIK. I would gues that the US pricing on the Canada site would be good to take from. Damn $450 for Ultimate.... wow. Maybe Office Ultimate won't be $$$. Thanks for the heads up too, that is the first pricing that I know of. Good job. "Jason" wrote: Everyone has been asking this question for some time now. I'm pretty happy with vista at the moment considering it's a beta release,
but it has a fair way to go before it's worth that much "Jason" wrote in message ... Everyone has been asking this question for some time now. I went over to Microsoft Canada, and the pricing has been removed. Sounds
like Microsoft, offically, doesn't want to give out the pricing yet. "Jason" wrote: Everyone has been asking this question for some time now. I'm sure they'll have a figure in mind and if the one that was posted before
is accurate it would sound about right it could of been a lot higher but I don't think that would be justified considering all the features that have been left out so far, and also it may be shipped with a lot of bugs and faults. I'll wait and see what the final product is like, and if it's as unstable as a lot of people seem to think it will be then I'll probably stick with Xp Pro until the first service pack release for vista and then buy it "Jason" wrote in message ... How much will Vista cost?
i honestly think that is a stupid price to pay for an os. especially when
it's not that much better than xp. i though $100 for home premium and $200 for ultimate would be more suitable. no way am i spending that! It wasn't removed...it was never there. They haven't put the pricing UP
yet... The screenshot is a photoshop. Trust me, when the pricing is revealed, you won't hear about it first on some post by a 17-year-old. LOL It will be all over the Tech World News, who have, strangely enough, not said a word about it... Believe whatever you want. Microsoft has always stated that the pricees for the various levels of Vista will be similar to the XP counterpart. XP Home=Vista Home Basic. XP MCE= Vista Home Premium. etc...

It was up on the site. The link I provided was a direct link to the Microsoft Canada site. Not my fault that Microsoft noticed it after I posted it in the forum and removed it.
