"unknown" wrote: I'm having a similar problem to IWantXPBack's as well. It started maybe just two days ago and I read somewhere that it may have something to do with photo editing software being installed, but I'm not sure about the validity of that and I don't want to go through uninstalling the software just to find out that it wasn't the problem because it took a while to install the first time through. I've tried going to Folder Options from the Control Panel and clicking Always Show Icons, Never Thumbnails. Just like his/her problem, the thumbnails show up but just as quickly they go back to the seat and mountain icon. Does anyone have an answer to this? If not, I may go through the uninstallation and see of that was what the problem was, but this particular solution might not help everyone's case. |

I read this post in a hurry so if I missed the obvious please forgive me. Before applying the registry fix, try.. In any folder click on "tools", then "folder options", then click on the "view" tab and unclick "always show icons and never thumbnails". Hope this helps some of you. -- dbknox |

I had this problem as well and came to this forum for help. I took what I read here and applied my own (simple) tactic. I went to: Control Panel - System - Advanced - Performance Settings - I unchecked and waited, then rechecked "Show thumbnails instead of icons". After a few seconds of processing, I then saw all the thumbnails on my computer. I hope this helps. -- TimsGhost |
