Default I want to see EVERYTHING--why can't I?

Thanks for your response, Michael ...

---WHY NOT? I want to see everything ... there are no other users. Yes, my
wife and my dog and a visiting kid here and there, but I don't want any
controlls or limits that don't have to be there.

While, at the moment, I can't seem to find "tools" and folder options, etc
I'm pretty sure I've checked "show hidden files and folders" before. But
give me a little more detail on how to get there and I'll check again.

But I run into "you have to be admistrator" type messages here and there and
it's very frustrating because I am the only one "here." ... JIM

Files for which you do not have permission
likely exist within other user's area's for instance.

However if your desire is to see c:\Users\Jim\AppData
then it should be sufficient to select

Tools
Folder options
View
Files and folders/Hidden files and folders
and set Show hidden files and folders

I've been reading posts here and there and one told "me" to go here to see
my
TIF ...

C:\Users\Jim\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Tempo rary Internet Files

but, if I "back up", I can't go "forward" again
If I got to say ... C:\Users\Jim ... there is NO AppData to pick from, at
least that I can see ... if I add AppData there's a Microsoft, then
Windows,
but no Temp Int. Files ... all I have is 1033, Burn, Explorer,
GameExplorer,
WER and WindowsUpdate

I have all the permissions and allow stuff set I can see ... is there a
setting where I can see EVERYTHING?
