Default Windows DVD maker screen size problems

When i burn a avi. movie file using windows dvd maker the size is always
shortened width wise when i put it on my TV. Its even more weird because the
menu at the beginning is the correct size but whenever I start the film it
shrinks width wise. Please help.

i have a similar problem. all my avi files seem fine in the previews but
come out with half of the screen being green. i thought it may be because
the settings were 16:9 instead of 4:3 but the settings were correct.

any other reasons why this may happen?

Im having the same problem....at first i was getting the green menu screen
but i downloaded new codecs and that part is fixed. But now im stuck with
the cropped movie. You are right...it looks fine in the preview but not
after its on disk. There is a black border all the way around the movie and
the image is stretched. Can anyone help?

I seem to be having related problems, which I have posted separately (see:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/com...=en-us&m=1&p=1

....my problem is that the preview looks stretched too wide horizontally. I
wonder if I export a movie if it will come out correctly as a result?
