We have a Samsung laser printer/fax attached to our server which is shared by all users on the network. When I try to install this printer on a new computer with Vista, a dialog windowdisplays a message 'Not enough memory to install this printer'. There is plenty of memory and no other programs were open at the time. How can I overcome this erronous mesage and install the shared printer. The printer is not networkable (direct to router) Steve W (in Aus) |

When I try to install this printer on a new computer with Vista, a dialog windowdisplays a message 'Not enough memory to install this printer'. There is plenty of memory and no other programs were open at the time. How can I overcome this erronous mesage and install the shared printer. The printer is not networkable (direct to router) Steve W (in Aus) had same trouble though samsung site said the laser model was already vista compatible. i created a new printer while computer drectly connected to the printer, then computer was returned to seeing the printer thru the lan. then i was able to create a network printer (got past that memory message). but the vista computer wasn't able to print unless reconnected directly to the printer. so i gave up at that time. i searched again last week, and found a vista driver dated from january 2007. after installing it, we can print from the vista computer. |
