I've this laptop -
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/product.php...AH%20MARKETING When it comes out of sleep it doesn't reconnect to the internet via my wireless hub, but it does get what it calls a "local only" connection. So I have to click on disconnect and then connect to get the net back. Works fine on restart, but not after sleep. Could it be something with my hub? Any ideas? |

Solution seems to be that I disable my (unused) ethernet adaptor.

Thank you for the feedback. Can we assume you have two connection, one is wired and another is wireless?

Yes I can connect to my broadband hub via ethernet as well as wireless, but I tend to just use the wireless, so disabling the ethernet adaptor is fine for now - I could always enable it again if I need to. Not sure why this is an issue - perhaps the ethernet card was taking some sort of priority over the wireless card?

I have this same problem.
Dell Inspiron E1505 All new drivers. My wireless router is new. It is the one Dell recommnended. I followed Microsoft's solution for power management. The thing just does not reconnect properly after waking from sleep. If I click "diagnose" under "Wireless Network Connection Status" It almost always reconnects. I am pretty confidant nothing is wrong with my settings, I just think something screwy happens with Vista when the computer wakes from sleep. This really ought to be fixed. |
