Default I'm confused here - Networking XP and Vista machines

On my home network I have 4 networked computers. One of the computers is an
XP Pro SP2 machine that is used as my music server, it has a shared folder
with my music that all the computers can read/write/access fully. From the
Vista machine I can open many of the files on the music share (.mp3's,
..txt's, .bmp's), but I cannot open a .mdb or a .chm file. When I
double-click on them the mouse cursor looks busy for a few seconds and then
returns to normal - nothing happens. The odd thing is I can open Microsoft
Access first and then choose File-Open and it will open the Access database
out on the network share. So why can't I open it with a double-click?

So my next step was to see how it worked on one of the XP machines. Turns
out I can open the .mdb and .chm files on the music network share without any
issues by just double-clicking on the files to open.

Am I missing a security setting somewhere? Why can't I open all file types
from the Vista machine?

I appreciate any help or insights!

DGo to Control Panel and select Default Programs and see what programs the
..chm and .mdb are set to use.

PaulB - Thats not the issue, I didn't mention that I can copy the files from
the music PC to the Vista computer and both the chm file and mdb files will
run in the appropriate application (Microsoft HTML Help and Microsoft Access
respectively).

It's almost like Vista doesn't trust the shared folder to launch certain
types of apps.
