Registry cleaner
We ran disk wipe after installation to make sure no 'cudies' were on the
disk. Vista doesnt come with a way to get an ISP, even though an MSN folder
exists in Program Files; and if attempting to run, the account sign up fails.
So we tried Earth Link, Netzero and Juno and all failed. Eventually we caled
MSN and were read the EULA over the phone and managed to get online.
Well, uninstalling those programs did not take some of them completely off
as they tried to run at startup and defender kept catching them. So I
searched the registry and was shocked to see how much junk and hidden things
were put in the registry.
How do you suggest we users remove those? Do I trust myself to start
deleting rgistry keys manually? Do you think a registry cleaner is more
efficient?
I am going to use JV16 for nothing better.
Also, MS sent a survey asking if it is important for MS to start work on a
registry cleaner. So if MS is thinking about creating one, it must be
reasonable to use one, in my opinion.
Maybe MS should make a program to track installations and create appropriate
uninstalls, instead of letting outside vendors trash MS OS. Responsiblity,
another issue!!
