what whould be the problem?

with the 3.0.9 patch it has a igfx stops and recovers problem.
with 3.1.0 it works well, no problems...

Can you trick the notebook into installing the 2009 drivers by expanding the
file (use WinZip or WinRar).... then going into the Device Manager, clicking
on Display Driver, Update Driver and pointing it to the folder that contains
the files you just expanded... preferably point it at the *.inf file.

This does sometimes work.... and I've done it on notebooks that have the
irritating habit of not liking the graphics driver that I want to install
rather than the one that the notebook/Windows wants.
