Hello,
In a new HP laptop with vista business my daughter allowed sharing for her "C" drive to try and network her computer. She no longer wants to share this drive. How do we stop the sharing? She is also runnig Norton which came with the computer. Thanking you in advance for your help. Yours, Tom |

To stop sharing the drive (never EVER share the root of a drive!) in Vista
Biz: 1. Double click the Computer icon on the desktop. 2. Right-click the drive and left-click on "Share...". 3. You'll find the sharing options under either the "Share" or "Advanced Sharing" buttons, depending upon the configuration of your computer. To disable ALL sharing from the computer: 1. Right-click either: a. The Network icon on the desktop b. The Network item on the Start menu and left-click on "Properties", or left-click the "Network and Sharing Center" in Control Panel. 2. In the Sharing and Discover section, turn off the sharing items (but leave Password Protected Sharing ON. I hope this helps. -- David Dickinson eveningstar at die-spammer-die dash mvps dot org |
