My husband and I have been trying to network between our two pcs...I am
running Vista Home Premium and he is running Vista Ultimate. We are running from switch to router to pcs...and we are trying to file share. I can access his computer just fine but all he can access on mine are my media sharing. When he tries to access my pc it gives him an error. We are very frustrated and help would be greatly appreciated. ~Jen |

Neil,
When my husband tries to access my computer on the network he gets the error "windows cannot access. check the spelling of the name. otherwise, there might be a problem with your network." Cannot be the case though since he can access my media sharing and I can access everything on his computer. ~Jennifer "Neil Harley" wrote: loprabbit wrote: My husband and I have been trying to network between our two pcs...I am running Vista Home Premium and he is running Vista Ultimate. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!): http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0...#AskingForHelp -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
