im preparing to set up a wireless home network. I will be networking a new
computer running Vista premium located upstairs and a computer running XP home downstairs. I have a Lyra wireless device which allows me to play mp3's and streaming audio from my computer on my home stereo system. The Lyra is not supported on Vista, but is on XP. I will connect the Lyra transmitter to the computer running XP (located downstairs), and this should work just fine. However, my hope is that I can control the selection of music using Windows Media Player via my home network from my Vista computer upstairs, so I dont have to run downstairs every time I want to change an album or song. Anyone have any experience with a situation like this, and know whether or not my home network will allow me to do this. Any suggestions, comments, or speculations would be appreciated. |
