Hello,
I have a WM5 based device (HTC Wizard) and Vista Ultimate x64 on my desktop. I would like to share my dial-up Internet connection over wifi. Using conncetion createor I made proper setting so desktop works as a gateway (192.168.0.1). I tested the setting using my laptop with Windows XP (IP of laptop 192.168.0.3/255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.1, DNS 192.168.0.1) and it work fine. On my PDA I set-up the connection and manually input following settings for "SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter" IP: 192.168.2 mask: 255.255.255.0 gateway: 192.168.0.1 DNS: 192.168.0.1 PDA connects without any problems, but Internet doesn't work (and I don't know why, given that the laptop works fine). I cannot ping 192.168.0.1, I cannot ping ny DNS with static IP, I cannot ping www.google.com. Furthermore I have also XP on my desktop as a 2nd system. I applied the same setting to XP as were on Vista - not so hard to imagine that on this XP PDA connects to Internet correctly. What is going on? Seems to be a bug in Vista resulting from lack of compatibility between new system and WM team. Microsoft, I would be grateful for your help. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
