I bought Vista a few days ago and i've been unable to get this issue fixed.
My issue is that i'm unable to connect to download.microsoft.com to download certain updates or other things off of their website. Here is an example screenshot when attempting to download the validation tool from Microsoft's website. ![]() ![]() As you can see, this error occurs in both Firefox and Internet Explorer 7. Initially i thought it was something wrong with Microsoft's servers, so i got a friend of mine to send me the DirectX Web Setup utility. It also failed to connect to Microsoft servers. I've tried allowing Firefox in my firewall exceptions, and disabling my anti-virus, but that didn't fix it. The odd thing is that in Windows XP, i can connect to Microsoft servers and download anything from their websites, however in Vista i cannot. I'm currently only using NOD32 as my anti-virus. Hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks. |
