Hi, I have just purchased a vista laptop and it connects to the internet no
probs but its soooooooooo slow. So far i have tried: Disabling ipv6 Re-booting router Updating router firmware Disabling Mcafee and a number of other hints i got off google but nothing has worked. Strange thing is its fine if you're on the Microsoft page. I have 3 other machines running XP and its lightning fast. Come on Mr Gates...what have you sold me? |

I have the same issue. I have also tried disabling ITv6 and the firmware
upgrade. I am currently not running an anti-virus as I have read that can cause slowness. I also tried disabling the internet security features in Vista. I finally got the internet working sort of but my downloads and pop mail are
still very very slow. I like vista except for this problem. Hopefully microsoft fixes this Issue soon. Luckly I have another PC with XP so I can troubleshoot this issue. It owuld be better if the file transfer speeds were better between vista and XP. "Danny" wrote: Its a joke. It seams a common problem when you google it. Gonna end up installing xp on my new machine at this rate |

What Network adaptor do you have fitted?
If it's Realtek RTL8139/810X Family Host Ethernet NIC, check the driver version. If that is dated 2007 try rolling back to Version 5.640.630.2006. It worked for me and hope it does for you to "Brian" wrote: I finally got the internet working sort of but my downloads and pop mail are still very very slow. I like vista except for this problem.
