ok... i will be as specific as I can. Here is my problem and background
info. I am currently using a Windows 2003 server for networking purposes. I have been put onto the network and everything is working fine except for the printing. I am able to file share and do many other things. I am running a Windows Vista Buisness operating system on a Dell Inspirion 6400 laptop. I would like to be able to print from my computer to a networked printer. The printer is a Cannon Image Runner 7095. Using the add a printer tool, I am able to find and locate the printers from the network and even able to install the software for them. The driver i am using is a PCL 5e-c or something like that... i believe that it is vista compatible, at least as far as i can tell by looking at their website. I am able to print a test page on the printer, and I can even print from office 2007 word if i select the printer manually each time. I am not able to set this network printer up to be my default printer, also i am not able to print from adobe. I get an error message that says, "Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer." Yet as i have said the driver is installed on the computer and appears to work... just not with complete functionality. Also a Global administrator set up my account so i was not the one that actually did this, but they are clueless as to any fix. So if anyone knows how to print over the network through adobe reader, or even how to let me set my default printer to this network printer i would greatly appreciate it! If you need any more information just let me know i will do my best to supply it. Thanks For your time, David |
