Default Internet Explorer 7 so SLOW in Vista

I have a brand new Dell E521 Dual Core with 2GB RAM and just installed a
Netgear WG311T PCI Adapter that connects to a Linksys WRT54G Router (all
wireless) at 54MB speed (excellent connection - they are about 5 ft apart)
and getting on the web is excruciatingly SLOW. My XP machines fly (going
thru the same connection), while my Vista machine just sits there and the
Internet Explorer glass spins.

I have the network connection set up where the Netgear software is running
the network connection setup as should be and al seems good. I've got the
latest update from Netgear for the adpater and even thoug it is a 108MB
adapter, it will only run at 54MB under Vista, which shouldn't be an issue.

When I run a network speed test, I get a really high latency time, but when
the download and upload finally kicks in, they are great as well - cable
speeds. I just think the connection is not set up properly, Anybody got any
suggestions?

Terry

P.S. I'm writing you from my XP machine cause it would take me forever to
do it from Vista.

These kinds of spuratic errors are probably due to a malfunctioning device
driver. I'm assuming you are using the Netgear driver. Try setting the driver
to a default Microsoft provided one, or try downloading a newer driver from
Netgear if it is available.
