I just did a clean install of Windows Vista Ultimate x64, and now my wireless
card does not work. The first card I tried was the internal card that I used with XP, Gigabyte GN-WP01GS. This card has vista x64 drivers out for it. When I start up, windows finds the new hardware, but when I direct vista to the location of the drivers, it fails stating that, "Windows can not find the the driver for this device." I went to the device manager and tried to update the driver that way, but I got the same message. I also tried to install a USB wireless card, a D-Link DWL-G122, which also has Vista drivers out. The same exact thing happens with the D-Link card. I have been in contact with the wireless card's tech support and they are stumped. Since both card's drivers fail in the same way this leads me to believe that there is some sort of configurational problem with Vista on my computer. Does anyone know what is wrong and how I can fix it? Thanks |

Bump. Does anyone have any insight as to why vista can not install any of
these drivers? "FastTommyV" wrote: I just did a clean install of Windows Vista Ultimate x64, and now my wireless card does not work.
