Recently I bought Toshiba notebook, Satellite L30-10X with 1GB RAM memory,
and processor that runs on 1.8 GHz, with installed Vista Basic. My problem is annoying message that I receive usually a few minutes after I turn computer on. It says that I have an error in script in line: 567, ‘lastUpdateTime’ is null or not an object. And do I want to debug it. I have no idea if this error is connected to Vista nor how to put that error away. Any help? |

Sounds like it's the way Toshiba or an intermediary has set up the machine.
Who did you buy it from? "Stevan Vampola" wrote in message ... I bought it at the computer shop, wrapped and packed in original pack.
Operative system installed itself with the first switching of the notebook on. "Mac" wrote: Sounds like it's the way Toshiba or an intermediary has set up the machine. Who did you buy it from? Contact Toshiba, or since it is a new laptop, RETURN it.

Maybe - but it's the "shop" who are responsible for support.

Stevan, you have a problem that is nothing to do with Vista. It's all about
how your PC was set up. No other Vista users get the same problem you do. Go back to where you bought it and tell them about your problem. It is their responsibility under law to provide you with a solution. Reply back here if you are unsure.... "Mac" wrote in message ... Maybe - but it's the "shop" who are responsible for support. What an idiotic reply!
Toshiba provides the warranty, Toshiba provides the support. He can return it to the shop for replacement if it is within their time limit for returns, or ask Toshiba for support who will most likely direct him to a factory authorized repair center if they cannot find a solution if it is still under warranty, or Toshiba will take it in directly for repair or replacement. Having been the service manager for a professional, industrial Panasonic, JVC, and Sony authorized service center/dealer that's the way it works, numb nuts. -- I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS! No, but generally true here in the US, although different states have varying
laws. The retailer can set whatever he wants as long as return/exchange policies are available to the buyer at the time of purchase -- all sales final, no refunds -- only exchanges, 7 days refund/exchange, 10 days refund/exchange, 30 days refund/exchange, etc. But here in the US, the retailer is not responsible for repairs unless they specifically agree to do so (usually at an extra cost). Unless the dealer offers technical support, all technical support is the responsibility of the manufacturer and/or his contracted agents. -- I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS! Stevan, this sounds like an error in some auto updater that comes already installed. Makes sense that if the machine had never been updates then the last update time would be empty ![]() If you get no sense out of anybody else try the Toshiba website and see if there are any "Updates" for anything you can install manually. |
