Default sub-program pop-ups

I recently bought this pc with Vista already on the hd, i continuesly gat
some sort of Vista sub-program pop-ups at anygivin time. The pop-ups are
useally stuff like the calculator, windows e-mail center (i happen to be with
Yahoo) and seach prompts.
During online gameplay Vista seems to just "choose" do these things and even
to put the pc in standby mode.

Does anyone have the same prob? or a solution?
