I have a new, wireless Dell Laptop using MS VISTA Home Premium. I also have
a wired PC, running XP, connected to a printer (also wired). I'd like to
print from my laptop, using the PC as a go between. It's wired into the
wirelss modem. Can this be done, please? (The printer is an HP officejet
v40xi)

Thanks!

Sure. I do it myself at home. Make sure both PCs are in the same workgroup.
Then share the printer and run the "New Printer" wizard on your Vista
laptop. If you haven't already, you may need to turn on network
discovery/sharing on the Vista machine (it's been several months since I
last setup a Vista PC).

Printing problem is related to printer driver, most printers have seperate
drivers for XP and Vista, thus nworking with only one. you should check with
the manufacturer of the printer and get a driver for XP compatible with
Vista; thisn isn Microsoft advice, and most printers are creating because of
that, Microsoftm doesn't care if you cannot print, they want to impose their
owne programs.

I'm sorry, but how do I set up that workgroup, please?

Thanks!
