I have 2 vista pcs and one xp pc on a network. I see all the networked pcs,
but when I try to open them it asks me for a user account and password. None of the accounts work. Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it? |

Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it? With Windows XP as a server, is it running Advanced, or Simple, File Sharing? If Advanced, is it using Guest or non-Guest access? Is the right account activated for network access? http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/06/file-sharing-under-windows-xp.html#Activate http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0....html#Activate With Windows Vista, is Password Protected Sharing On, or Off? PPS On = Advanced File Sharing. And again, is the right account activated for network access? http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/12/windows-xp-and-vista-on-lan-together.html http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/1...-together.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
